REMINDER OF STANDARDS
Safety cage ladders or fixed ladders are collective protection systems for access at height for access to machines or buildings.
Thanks to a wide range of accessories, safety cage ladders adapt to their environment and allow all configurations: with or without changes of flights, exit platforms with passage of parapet, exit under hatches, with or without security trapdoor/security door, fixing on cladding, etc.
Easy to install on site, the ladders are delivered pre-drilled with pre-assembled screws.
AN ACCESS SYSTEM COMPLIANT WITH THE LATEST STANDARDS IN FORCE
Aware of compliance with regulations and standards, AluSafety offers its customers a fixed staircase system that complies with the latest French and European standards.
This system complies with the requirements of the standards relating to fixed ladders, namely the
NF E 85-016 and EN 14122-4:
• NF E 85-016: up to 8000 mm (HAF) without changing the flight for access to a building.
• EN 14122-4: up to 10000 mm (HAF) without change of flight for access to machines.
RECOMMENDATIONS
Clearance between the ladder and fixed parts of the area surrounding the means of access must be:
• In front of the ladder 650 mm and 600 mm in the case of a non-continuous obstacle;
• Behind the rear face of the rungs: at least 200 mm and 150 mm in the event of a non-continuous obstacle.
SAFETY CAGE
A safety cage is made up of horizontal safety hoops and vertical stringers. The maximum distance between two consecutive hoops must not exceed 1500 mm. The hoops must be placed perpendicular to the stringers of the safety cage. The stringers of the safety cage must be fixed on the inside of the crinoline and distributed regularly. A safety cage must be installed on the ladder if the height to be crossed is greater than 3000 mm.
The height of the lowest part of the safety cage must be between 2200 and 3000 mm above the starting area. The upper safety cage must be raised to the height of the arrival area guardrail. The distance between 2 safety cage elements must not exceed 300 mm.
